Qualifications

  • Minimum: master’s or terminal degree in Fashion Design or related field, or a bachelor’s with substantial professional experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in fashion design, apparel development, garment construction, patternmaking, draping, technical design, product development, or related areas.
  • Professional portfolio demonstrating relevant creative, technical, or industry work.
  • Proficiency in the techniques and software required for the assigned courses.
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to student success, professionalism, and ethical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned Fashion Design courses in accordance with approved descriptions, outcomes, syllabi and program requirements.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, lesson plans, demonstrations, assignments, projects, rubrics, and assessments.
  • Provide hands-on instruction in garment construction, patternmaking, draping, illustration, technical design, digital design, or other areas.
  • Maintain an organized, safe studio environment and ensure safe use of equipment.
  • Evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Conduct critiques to strengthen students’ technical and creative skills.
  • Submit grades and required documentation on time.
  • Support curriculum alignment and program assessment activities.
  • Collaborate with program staff and faculty to ensure course quality.
