Job summary

SOSI is seeking a Farsi Instructor in Northern Virginia to provide language instruction with responsibilities for planning, delivery, and assessment in a professional setting. You will engage adult learners and progress through ILR levels using current instructional methods.

The role requires citizenship for security clearance, five years of teaching experience, and strong English communication skills. Onsite full-time work with standard hours is expected.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.
• TS/SCI clearance process and SOSi sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Language, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of recent experience in foreign language instruction for adults/university students.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Farsi history, culture, politics, and economy.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication; standardized exam required.
• Native or near native Farsi competency (ILR 5, TA 3).
• Experience using foreign language learning technology and teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction to students ranging from ILR 0 to 3 to raise their proficiency.
• Execute full cycle of lesson development, instruction, and student assessment.
• Develop lesson plans for beginner to advanced classes.
• Facilitate classes focused on real-world scenarios including culture, history, politics, and economy.
• Provide students with constructive feedback and collaborate with customers to support success.
• Assess students’ learning and proficiency levels using the ILR scale.
• Complete customer-specific training and instructor certifications.
