Job summary

Pipestone Management seeks a highly motivated Farrowing Lead to join our farm team. The role will lead and train staff to improve production, maintain animal welfare, and uphold company standards in daily husbandry and operations.

You will monitor performance, manage tasks, and ensure accurate records while coordinating with the farm manager on health, ventilation, and facility upkeep.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of livestock experience required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Educate and train employees to follow production protocols and procedures to company standards.
• Monitor employee performance for accuracy in proper animal husbandry to reduce stress and maximize production.
• Develop employees to provide specialized skills and growth; connect performance to finances.
• Assign, manage, and maximize daily tasks to achieve goals.
• Log and maintain daily records and monitor for accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with the farm manager about daily activity, health, and staff relations.
• Monitor ventilation for animal comfort and ensure proper operation.
• Maintain facility organization, cleanliness, and upkeep for longevity.
• Uphold handbook policies focusing on safety, welfare, and biosecurity.
