Job summary

Pipestone Management is seeking a Farrowing Lead to supervise and train farm staff to meet production goals while upholding animal welfare and biosecurity. You will drive adherence to protocols, mentor employees, and manage daily tasks to optimize efficiency and profitability.

Role requires hands-on farm work, ability to stand for long periods, weekend availability, and collaboration with management to maintain facilities, records, and safe operations in a rural livestock environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of livestock experience required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate and train employees to follow production protocols.
• Monitor performance to ensure proper animal husbandry and efficiency.
• Develop employees to provide specialized skills tied to finances.
• Assign and manage daily tasks to achieve goals.
• Log and maintain daily records with accuracy.
• Communicate with farm manager about daily activity, animal health, and safety.
• Monitor ventilation for animal comfort.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep.
• Uphold handbook policies on safety, welfare, and biosecurity.
