Job summary

Pipestone Management seeks a Farrowing Lead to join our farm operations. The role guides and trains staff to improve production, efficiency, and profitability while maintaining animal welfare and biosecurity.

You will supervise daily tasks, monitor performance, maintain records, and coordinate with the farm manager on health, ventilation, and facility upkeep. Weekend work is required, and a reliable commute is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of livestock experience required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on animal handling with exposure to livestock, odors, dust, and varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Educate and train employees to follow production protocols to company standards.
• Monitor employee performance for accuracy in proper animal husbandry to maximize production goals and efficiency.
• Assign, manage, and maximize daily tasks to achieve goals.
• Log and maintain daily records and monitor for accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication with the farm manager regarding daily activity in production, animal health, facility relations, and employee relations.
• Monitor ventilation system for optimal comfort for our animals.
• Facility organization, cleanliness, and maintenance upkeep.
• Uphold all handbook policies with a focus on safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity procedures.
