Job summary

Vital Farms is seeking a Farm Support Coordinator to oversee farm activities, coach a network of farmers and crew, and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices. The role emphasizes animal welfare, data-driven insights, and proactive problem solving.

The position requires travel to farms, a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science/Business/Agriculture Management or equivalent, and 1–2 years of experience in animal production. Remote-friendly with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Collaborate with Farmers to address consumption issues, mortality, shell quality, yolk colors and other issues.
  • Listen to Farmers’ needs and concerns and diplomatically solve challenges; communicate daily with our Farmer Support team.
  • Travel to different farms as necessary to support Farmers in your span of care.
  • Proactively understand farmer backgrounds and how to improve outcomes.
  • Support our Farmers with different questions and situations as they arise.
  • Hold Farmers accountable and guide improvements to be productive and audit-ready.
  • Leverage performance data to guide farmers on best practices.
  • Generate insights on farm performance and improvement opportunities.

Your Role:

The Farm Support Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing farm activities, providing support and coaching to our extensive network of farmers, crew members, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. The crew member will coach our Farmers to be as effective, efficient, and profitable as they can be. Additionally, this individual is dedicated to the well-being of the animals in our care, and who is fiercely committed to improving the lives of everyone they work with.

What You'll Do:
  • Become an expert on Vital Farms’ standards to ensure that all animal welfare standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with Farmers to get ahead of consumption issues, mortality, thin shells, yolk colors, and any other critical issues that could impact our farmers.
  • Listen to Farmer’s needs and concerns and diplomatically solve challenges. Communicate daily with our Farmer Support team, staying in close contact with other crew members to learn and share best practices.
  • Travel to different farms as necessary to support Farmers in your span of care.
  • Proactively get to know the details and backgrounds of the Farmers you work with, understanding where they’re coming from and what they’re struggling with; finding different ways to achieve better outcomes.
  • Support our Farmers with different questions and situations as they arise.
  • Hold Farmers accountable, helping them understand what adjustments need to be made so they can be more productive, more profitable, and always audit-ready.
  • Leverage performance data to guide Farmers on best practices, ensuring they meet our rigorous guidelines in animal welfare, including but not limited to proper nutrition, sanitation, pasture rotation, temperature regulations, and more.
  • Generate insights on farm performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Due to travel requirement for this role, the ideal candidate must be located near Pocahontas, AR or the surrounding area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Business or Agriculture Management or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience working in animal production desirable
  • Knowledge of poultry industry & Certified Humane standards preferred
  • Able to analyze data and draw conclusions which lead to action
  • Able to set goals and work diligently to accomplish them
  • Ability to travel daily as needed, including overnight, to farms, production facilities, company/team meetings, and other business needs

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
