Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 7–10 years experience managing a commercial farm operation.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience operating farm equipment.
  • Flexibility to accommodate shifting priorities and weather events.
  • Attentive to workplace health and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of farm staff to support teaching and research needs.
  • Manage farm resources including labor, equipment, and budget.
  • Collaborate with Farm Director and Director of Animal Resources on management and budgeting.
  • Oversee daily farm operations and ensure coverage across shifts.
  • Ensure animals are available for teaching in laboratory courses.
  • Oversee animal health care needs and maintenance of records.
  • Coordinate hay production and machinery scheduling with staff.
