Michael Foods, Inc. in Mars Hill, Maine, is seeking a Farm Supervisor to oversee daily equipment operation and ensure high-quality potato production. This role emphasizes safety, GMP compliance, and efficient production in a busy farm setting.

The supervisor will manage approximately 2 employees, enforce OSHA rules, and report safety issues to management. Overtime/weekend work may be required in peak periods.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic diesel mechanical knowledge required.
• Repair knowledge for potato equipment.
• Knowledge for PM maintenance on trucks, tractors and implements.
• Understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups.
• Math skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide with a calculator.

Responsabilités

• Set up, inspect, and clean equipment to ensure farm equipment reliability.
• Prepare, maintain, and complete safety, quality, and farm documentation.
• Verify crew members trained to OSHA requirements.
• Provide feedback to management on safety issues and accident potentials.
• Initiate incident/accident reports and implement corrective actions.
• Handle potatoes, move between locations while maintaining production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot equipment not running properly.
• Coordinate with Farm Manager, maintenance, and other staff on production needs.
• Adhere to safety, GMP, and food quality policies and practices.
• Overtime and weekend work when required.
