Job summary

Wingate University is seeking a full-time Farm Manager for the Wingate University Research and Education Farm. The role oversees daily operations, hands-on student learning, and undergraduate teaching in agricultural food systems and related areas.

Responsibilities include supporting research, engaging with the community, and collaborating with faculty and partners to advance the program's mission. The candidate should demonstrate service leadership, inclusivity, and a growth mindset.

Qualifications

• MS in Agriculture, Horticulture, Biology, or related field.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of farm management experience.
• Commitment to serving diverse, first-generation, non-traditional, and socio-economically challenged students.
• Honest and transparent communication.
• Qualities of service leadership and a growth mindset.
• Equipment operation and maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations, management and development of Wingate University Research and Education Farm.
• Provide hands-on learning opportunities for students and teach undergraduate courses.
• Support agricultural research and community engagement.
• Collaborate with faculty and community partners.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the Agricultural Food Systems Program.
