Placements24 is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee extensive fruit orchards near East London. You will lead a team, implement best practices in orchard management, and ensure high-quality yields and profitability.

The role focuses on planting, pruning, harvesting, post-harvest handling, and leveraging modern farming techniques in the Eastern Cape. Housing or housing allowance may be available, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in farm management with fruit production focus.
• In-depth knowledge of orchard management techniques for various fruits common in the region.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce effectively.
• Strong understanding of irrigation systems, soil health, and pest control strategies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of fruit orchards including planting, cultivation, irrigation, and pest/disease management.
• Plan and execute pruning, thinning, and harvesting activities to maximize yield and quality.
• Manage and supervise farm staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluation.
