Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee extensive fruit orchards near East London, Eastern Cape. You will lead a team of farm workers, manage planting, pruning, harvesting, and post-harvest handling to ensure high-quality yields and profitability.

You will implement best practices in orchard management, monitor irrigation, soil health, and pest control, and drive records for production and labour efficiency. On-site operations and housing support may be available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management, with a focus on fruit production.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the fruit orchards, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, and pest/disease management.
• Plan and execute pruning, fruit thinning, and harvesting activities to maximize yield and quality.
