Job summary

Kona Joe Coffee LLC is seeking a dynamic Coffee Farm Manager to lead all aspects of coffee cultivation and farm operations in Kailua, Hawaii. You will supervise staff, oversee machinery, and apply best agricultural practices to ensure safe, sustainable, and profitable production of high-quality beans.

In this role, you will maintain equipment, manage irrigation and greenhouses if applicable, document crop progress, and uphold safety standards across the farm while fostering a culture of hands-on

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Coffee Farm Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of coffee cultivation and farm operations. This role is vital in ensuring the efficient, sustainable, and profitable production of high-quality coffee beans. As a Coffee Farm Manager, you will be responsible for managing farm staff, maintaining equipment, implementing agricultural best practices, and ensuring safety standards are upheld across the farm. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant outdoor environment while applying your expertise in farming, machinery operation, animal care, and farm management.

Duties
  • Supervise daily farm activities including planting, harvesting, pruning, and pest management to optimize coffee crop yields.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of farm machinery such as tractors, irrigation systems, harvesters, and other equipment.
  • Manage farm staff by assigning tasks, providing training on safety standards and equipment use, and ensuring adherence to best practices in farming and animal husbandry.
  • Maintain detailed records of crop progress, equipment maintenance schedules, livestock health (if applicable), and safety compliance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the farm infrastructure, machinery repairs (including welding and mechanical repairs), and ensure all tools and power equipment are properly maintained.
  • Implement irrigation schedules and horticultural practices to promote healthy plant growth while managing greenhouse or nursery areas if applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards in production processes, heavy lifting procedures, manual handling protocols, and animal care regulations.
Requirements
  • Proven supervising experience in agricultural or farm settings with strong leadership skills.
  • Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as agricultural tractors, skid steer, mini-excavator forklifts, power tools, and other farm machinery
  • Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair- including welding, MRO (maintenance, repair & operations), and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems, horticulture techniques, greenhouse management, and growing practices for crops like coffee or similar plants.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and use hand tools safely.
  • Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping; experience with maintenance schedules is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards related to farming operations including heavy equipment operation and livestock handling.
