Job summary

Aviagen is seeking an experienced Maintenance Specialist to oversee day-to-day equipment and facility maintenance on our farm operations. You will manage repairs, safety procedures, and compliance with environmental rules while coordinating with contractors.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and supervising maintenance staff. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience, is required to keep our production lines running efficiently.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent (required); with at least 5 years of maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical, mechanical, 1 year of direct supervisory experience.
• Experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting pneumatic equipment and systems
• Experience in at least two of: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and instrumentation
• Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Facility maintenance, utility equipment, troubleshooting and general repairs
• Aggressively manage all breakdown maintenance to successful conclusions
• Evaluate equipment functionality and schedule repairs or changes to improve operations
• Develop, implement, and maintain the department’s preventative maintenance procedures
• Oversee work in progress by outside contractors (fabricators, welders, pneumatic and hydraulic experts)
• Track, measure, and document maintenance mechanics' performance
• Directly assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed
