Job summary

Growing Gardens in Boulder, CO seeks a Farm Assistant to support farm production and programming on our Boulder Farm. You will work with Farm and Greenhouse Managers, and with programs like Cultiva Youth Project, volunteers, and Work Trade participants.

This role involves outdoor farming, lead groups, and collaborating with a skilled team. The position is full-time, hourly, seasonal (Mar 1–Oct 29, 2027) with a grant-funded one-year term and potential extension.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one full season of experience working on a production farm.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolutions skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Farm Managers to achieve growing and programming goals throughout the season.
• Greenhouse work to support growing for farms, donation programs and our Plant Sale.
• Farm work including seeding, transplanting, weeding, pest and disease management, cover cropping, irrigation installation and repairs, mowing, harvesting, washing and packing produce.
• Leading interns, volunteers, and other program participants in farm projects.
• Helping to lead our Cultiva Youth Project for teens to learn job and life skills.
• Staff alternate throughout the season with weekend greenhouse watering shifts and Thursday evenings volunteer events.
• Support farm events or other programming as needed, including setup and staffing of events.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
