Job summary

Dreaming Out Loud Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Farm Assistant to support production on our urban farm sites, including bed prep, seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and post‑harvest handling.

Qualifications

• 1 year (or more) of farming or gardening experience.
• Ability to distinguish between production crops and other types of plants.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness and ability to work Saturdays.
• Desire to take initiative and increase skills in sustainable agriculture.

Responsibilities

• Assist with production on the farm, including bed prep, seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and composting.
• Assist with weekly harvest, packaging, and distribution.
• Represent Dreaming Out Loud at community events and farmer's markets when needed.
