Capital Area Head Start seeks a Family Support Specialist to strengthen families and empower parents. This role provides direct services to families with complex needs, conducts home visits, and supports goal development with access to community resources.

The position supports a 10-month schedule, with summers off, and offers a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO and 401K. Qualifications include a HS diploma or higher and relevant experience or degrees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years experience with at risk families or
• Associate’s degree in human services with 1 year experience with at risk families or
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to families with multiple and complex needs
• Conduct education and home visits to support family goals
• Develop individualized family goals and monitor progress
• Assist access to community resources and referrals
• Monitor attendance and provide supportive follow-up
