Job summary

Capital Area Head Start seeks a Preschool Teacher to implement curriculum, engage families, and partner with the community. You will plan lessons, support child development, and ensure safety in a collaborative team environment.

The role offers a 10-month schedule with summers off and a minimum of $21.05 per hour, plus medical/dental/vision, PTO, 401K, and tuition reimbursement eligibility.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
• Experience working with pre-school age children.
• Intermediate computer skills, ability to use Word/Outlook and learn web-based systems.
• Valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle or reliable public transport.
• Pre-employment clearances and verifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum-based activities.
• Educate and inspire children through engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
• Collaborate with team to deliver high-quality Head Start programming.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of children at all times.
• Engage families and foster community partnerships to support learning.
