Job summary

Better Together seeks a Family Support Manager to oversee the Better Families Program in Southwest Florida, covering Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee, Manatee and Sarasota counties. The role focuses on assessing family needs, matching to volunteer host families, and developing lifelong life goals and reunification plans.

Ideal candidates hold a Human Service-related degree and a Masters in Social Work or equivalent experience, with strong leadership, communication, organization,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
• Related fields include BSW, BSHS, BA in Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Sociology with Human Services focus.
• Fieldwork experience with vulnerable children and families is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs and strengths of families to inform temporary and permanent placement decisions.
• Match volunteer support families with families seeking support and develop individualized plans.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to families and volunteers to implement the plan.
• Collaborate with regional staff to coordinate services and resources.
• Maintain regular communication with team and participate in on-call rotations.
