Guardian Light Family Services (GLFS) in Nebraska is seeking a part-time Family Support Specialist to mentor families, connect them with community resources, and provide coaching to parents and caregivers. From day one, you will receive supervision and a structured training pathway to build skills and confidence.

Role involves transporting children to supervised visits, maintaining flexible hours, and supporting family stability through coordinated services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience mentoring or supporting others.
• Human services degree valued but not required.
• Strong communication and rapport-building skills.
• Reliable vehicle for frequent travel; driver's license and insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor families, linking to community resources and support networks.
• Provide one-on-one skill teaching and coaching to parents and caregivers.
• Supervise parenting time and facilitate drug testing as part of family support plans.
• Transport children to supervised visits; GLFS provides car seats as needed.
• Maintain autonomy and a flexible schedule while meeting assigned case hours.
• Attend weekly meetings and monthly trainings with supervision.
• Participate in 40+ hours of paid initial training and ongoing professional development.
