Job summary

The SCO foster care program seeks a Case Aide to support and supervise family time between parents and children, ensuring engagement with the broader family network. You will accompany families to appointments and assist with crisis intervention, while coordinating with the case planning team on court documents and permanency reports.

Travel is required, up to 50% of the time, and you will interact with multiple SCO staff and external partners to deliver essential services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
• Approved background clearances and fingerprinting required.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual abilities encouraged.
• Knowledge of local welfare services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise family time between parents and children, and between siblings and other resources.
• Provide transportation as needed.
• Provide visit coaching between parents and children to support healthy engagement.
• Complete ongoing documentation within 7 business days of events in Connections.
• Work with case planning team on Permanency Hearing Reports and court documents.
• Support staff in gathering vital documents (birth certificates, SS cards, etc.).
• Accompany families to appointments (school, medical, drug treatment).
• Assist families through Public Assistance PATH processes and referrals.
• Meet with families at their home or in the community.
• Intervene in crisis situations to stabilize the child and family.
• Attend and testify in court appearances as needed.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and report on services provided.
• Fulfills Mandated Reporter duties for suspected child abuse or maltreatment.
• Meet with Supervisor regularly to discuss safety and permanency.
