Job summary

Oaklawn Psychiatric Center in Indiana is seeking a Family Peer Support Professional to join the Intensive Home-Based Treatment Team. You will provide non-clinical, strengths-based support to families, drawing on your lived caregiver experience to inspire hope and guide engagement with services.

Work with clinical and community teams to reduce participation barriers, assist in risk/crisis planning, and advocate for families navigating schools, DCS, juvenile justice, and healthcare.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BA/BS preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Direct experience as a caregiver to a youth or young adult with behavioral health challenges is required and used to inspire hope and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical, strengths-based support to families enrolled in Intensive Home-Based Treatment.
• Offer education, advocacy, mentoring, and emotional support to strengthen caregiver capacity, engagement, and resilience.
• Build trusting relationships with caregivers and assist in navigating child-serving systems (DCS, schools, juvenile justice, healthcare).
