Job summary

OWBC is seeking a Family Support Specialist for Head Start programs in Williamson and Burnet counties. The role links families with community resources, supports family well-being, and encourages parent involvement as part of a comprehensive team.

You will collaborate with the Center Director and other staff to ensure integrated services. The successful candidate will work under supervision, facilitate parent meetings, and assist in planning curriculum and program activities aligned with Head

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements.
• Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements and policies.
• Knowledge of child development for 0–5 year olds.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to lead group sessions.
• Ability to work with diverse families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit eligible families and assist with applications.
• Establish partnerships with parents reflecting background and culture.
• Accompany teachers on home visits.
• Coordinate opportunities for parents to engage with children at center and home.
• Assist parents with health needs by connecting resources.
• Provide information and referrals for emergency assistance and crisis intervention.
• Plan and encourage regular parent meetings and community events.
