Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Family Store Assistant Manager who will support the store manager in planning, administering, monitoring, and evaluating day-to-day operations to ensure adherence to policies. You will work with store associates to assist customers and step in as manager when the store manager is absent.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
• 2 years experience in retail sales.
• Must have and maintain a current valid chauffer’s license and pass the Salvation Army MVR check.
• Complete Safe From Harm training and keep current as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of clerks in performance of duties to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Assist with the training for new personnel.
• Assist with ensuring cash receipts are banked at end of business day and information is sent to appropriate personnel as required.
• Attend monthly staff meetings for managers and keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.
• Assist with leadership of customer development and retention plans to ensure an excellent customer experience
• Report safety hazards. Responsible for the protection of personnel, property, and building.
• Report to Manager any detrimental behavior by clerks.
• Perform other duties as assigned
