Addus Home Care in Illinois is seeking a Family Service Specialist to help families in crisis through DCFS programs such as Family Habilitation Services, Visitation, and Housing. You’ll assist with court-ordered participation, provide home-based teaching, and participate in ongoing training to support healthy, safe family environments.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years old, and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Competenze

High school diploma or GED required.
Associates degree or 2 years of child welfare experience required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Experience in social work, child care, or working with families preferred.
Must have dependable automobile, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
Must pass required background checks.

Mansioni

Support families to prevent permanent placement of children from their home.
Provide transportation for parent/child to supervised visits; travel may be extensive.
Work with families in the home, teaching homemaking, parenting, and anger management; utilize resources.
Supervised and unsupervised visitation; observe interactions and redirect as needed.
Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.
Submit monthly progress reports detailing services, goals, and outcomes.
Report all child abuse and neglect
Attend mandated trainings
For housing program, locate housing, jobs and community supports.
