Job description

Family Service Advisor – CemeterySales
Serve with Compassion. Grow with Purpose.

You’re the kind of person who can guide others through important life decisions with clarity, empathy, and professionalism. If you're looking for meaningful work that makes a lasting difference—while building a successful career—this is your moment.

At Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia and Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington, you’ll help families by selecting cemetery property and permanent memorialization options.

You’ll focus on serving families before the time of need, or when the need arises to help them plan with peace of mind and confidence.

Purpose Meets Possibility.

This isn’t a desk job or a cold sales role, it’s a people-first career built on connection and trust. You’ll meet families in a calm and thoughtful way, offer guidance on burial options, and walk them through decisions that provide long-termreassurance.

In this role, you’ll enjoy:

  • Financial Security and High Earning Potential
Base pay plus competitive commissions with no cap. We offer training pay and licensure reimbursement to support your success!
  • Supportive Benefits That Matter
Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, along with paid time off for vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
  • Long-Term Planning for You, Too
401(k) with company match, life insurance, and disability coverage—all designed to help you thrive.
What You’ll Do:

This is not a desk job—you’ll spend part of your time walking the cemetery grounds, discussing memorialization options, connecting with families atpreneed and at-need services, and ensuring every detail is handled with precision and empathy.

You’ll demonstrate a genuine interest in serving families as you present goods and services that meet their real needs. This allows you to maximize your commissions on quality sales without the pressure of upselling or manipulation.

Your natural ability to balance sensitivity with action will be key to your success as you:

  • Guide families who are planning ahead or those who just experienced loss through their options in cemetery and permanent memorialization
  • Assist families who have previously prearranged to help them see the value in their arrangements
  • Attend services that are unique to each family, providing support during placement of loved ones
  • Offer cemetery property and related merchandise that meet each family’s needs
  • Provide in-person support both in the office and outdoors on the cemetery grounds (a portion of your week will be active and physical)
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements—attention to detail is a must!
  • Collaborate with your team and management to meet goals and support families with exceptional care
What You Bring:

People who thrive in this role are proactive, personable, and able to lead families with care. Those who struggle are often too reserved or hesitant to engage in meaningful conversations during emotional moments.

  • Engaging, confident presence—you know when to step in and guide a conversation, and when to simply listen
  • Strong sense of tact, empathy, and professionalism with the ability to adapt in emotionally sensitive situations
  • Experience in sales, financial advising, or customer service where attention to paperwork and regulations are required is a plus!
  • Comfort with physical activity—walking cemetery grounds and working with clients in both indoor and outdoor locations
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for appointments and events
  • An insurance license or the ability to obtain an insurance license

Are you ready to find purpose in your workand opportunity in your future?

Join us and help families find peace of mind—one legacy, one community at a time!
