Bay Area Community Resources is hiring a Family Resource Navigator to be the primary contact for participants at the THRIVE Center. This full-time position focuses on creating a welcoming environment for children, youth, and families seeking resources and services.

The Navigator will conduct intakes, coordinate referrals, and provide ongoing support to ensure successful service connections for families. Ideal candidates will have an Associate degree in a related field and experience in community-based settings. This role emphasizes equity and inclusion within a diverse environment.

Compensation: $66,000-$71,000 annually (DOE). 16 paid BACR Holidays, generous paid time off benefits. Schedule

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position. The THRIVE Center operates after‑school and evening hours; the position primarily works an afternoon‑to‑evening schedule and one daytime shift each week. Minimum expectation of one Saturday per month, possibly additional as services grow.

Job Summary

The Family Resource Navigator serves as the primary point of contact for participants accessing services through the THRIVE Center. This role creates a welcoming environment, helps children, youth, and families identify needs, access resources, and connect with services. The Navigator works with the Program Coordinator, community partners, and families to conduct intake, coordinate referrals, provide resource navigation and support throughout the service journey. The role also supports data collection, participant follow‑up, community events, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and family‑centered environment that reflects the THRIVE Center's “no wrong door” approach.
• Conduct intake assessments, eligibility screenings, consent processes, and participant orientation activities; introduce families to THRIVE Center services, supports, and family‑centered approach in a trauma‑informed, healing‑centered, and culturally responsive manner.
• Provide resource navigation, information, referrals, and ongoing support to participants based on identified strengths, needs, and goals.
• Coordinate referrals and warm handoffs to co‑located partners, community providers, and external service systems, including follow‑up to support successful service connections and reduce barriers.
• Receive and triage referrals from schools, community‑based organizations, and partner agencies; coordinate with the Program Coordinator when complex or multi‑system support is needed.
• Maintain accurate participant records, referral information, service data, and outcome measures while ensuring compliance with program requirements and confidentiality standards.
• Support participant surveys, feedback collection, reporting activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and well‑functioning Center environment, including participant engagement areas, resource materials, and basic needs supplies.
• Support outreach activities, workshops, community events, and partner gatherings while collaborating with the Program Coordinator and community partners to support coordinated service delivery and positive participant outcomes.

Qualifications and Education

• Associate degree or higher in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Public Health, Education, Counseling, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Two years or more of experience working with children, youth, families, community members, or vulnerable populations in a community‑based, educational, health care, or social services setting.
• Experience conducting intakes, providing resource navigation, case coordination, family support, customer service, or other participant‑facing services.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to build trust and foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Experience using databases, case management systems, or data collection platforms.
• Commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, culturally responsive practices, and family‑centered approaches.
• Knowledge of community resources, public benefit systems, behavioral health services, educational supports, or family‑serving systems; bilingual skills are highly desirable.
