Job summary

ProHealth Physicians in Middletown, CT is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team with patient intake, clinical tasks, and administrative duties. The role requires handling patient interactions, documentation in the EHR, and coordination of tests and referrals.

The position includes a full-time schedule, with hours 8:00AM–5:00PM and occasional later shifts depending on staffing needs. Connecticut scope of practice applies, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant program or completed relevant medical assisting training by any branch of the armed forces.
• 2+ years of aide or tech level work experience in healthcare is acceptable.
• Certification as/registration as Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, clinical summary and direction on next steps or follow up.
• Perform phlebotomy for patients as needed.
• Document all patient interactions and clinical activities in the EHR.
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits for patients.
• Assist care team to ensure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service.
• Answer and route patient phone calls and messages to providers as needed.
