Job summary

ProHealth Physicians, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant to support the Pediatrics department at 400 Saybrook Road Ste 206, Middletown, CT. The role covers patient care, phlebotomy, and administrative duties within CT scope of practice.

You will work closely with the care team, handle clinical and administrative tasks, and ensure timely documentation in the EHR while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant program OR completed relevant medical assisting training by any branch of the armed forces of the United States OR 2+ years of aide or tech level work experience in healthcare.
• Preferred: Graduate from an accredited MA program; CPR/BLS certification; 1+ years MA experience; Experience with Epic; Experience in a primary care office.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, clinical summary and direction on next steps or follow up.
• Perform phlebotomy for patients as needed.
• Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately in the EHR.
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits; assist with disease management referrals.
• Answer and document patient phone calls; route messages to providers as needed.
