Job description

UPMC Central PA is seeking Per Diem adult and senior care physicians to join our growing post-acute care team in the Cumberland region. Play an integral role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to our geriatric population. Our Post-Acute team offers care across several skilled nursing facilities in the county.

Primary Care physicians, hospitalists, and geriatric-trained physicians are encouraged to apply.

About the Position:

1. Provide direct patient care across the aging continuum in facilities including skilled nursing, rehab, personal care/assisted living, independent living, and clinics.
2. Collaborate with facility leadership, hospital discharge teams, care management, and other specialties to ensure optimal quality care aligned with organizational goals.
3. Work within a variety of healthcare fields, from primary care and internal medicine to geriatrics and acute rehab, increasing knowledge and skillsets through crossover with specialists.
4. Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers.
5. Utilize EPIC EMR, online diagnostics, PACS imaging, and laboratory results.
6. Engage in clinical rounding Monday through Friday, with attractive daily schedules, flexible models, and shared phone coverage for overnight and weekend calls.
