Job description

Geriatrics opening in Jonesboro, AR, located 70 miles from Memphis, TN, and 100 miles from Little Rock, AR. Service area of 100,000 people. Full-time, permanent position.

Position Details:

1. Senior Health Clinic physicians typically see 7-8 patients per half-day session.
2. New patient appointments are 40 minutes; established patient visits are 30 minutes; acute visits are 20 minutes.
3. Physicians are likely to see no more than 15-16 patients per day, depending on appointment types.
4. After-hours call is shared among 6 providers, rotating roughly every 6 weeks, and is phone call only, as hospitalists cover inpatient care.
5. During a one-week call rotation (Monday-Monday), approximately 20 after-hours calls are expected.
6. Providers receive a post-call day the Monday following their on-call week.
7. The Senior Health Clinic employs an interdisciplinary team, including a full-time social worker, to meet the needs of the older population.
8. Patient base of approximately 1,200.
9. Team includes 2 geriatricians and 2 APRNs.
