Job summary

Engelhard Medical Center, part of Ocracoke Health Center, Inc., in Hyde County, NC, seeks a Part-Time or Full-Time Physician (MD or DO) to join our rural care team. We provide primary and preventive care for patients of all ages in a supportive, community-focused setting.

We offer flexible scheduling (2–3 days/week, 8am–5pm), a patient panel of 300–400 for meaningful continuity, and collaboration with experienced clinicians.

Qualifications

• Licensed MD or DO in North Carolina (or eligible).
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine (or similar).
• Values teamwork and collaborative patient care.
• Enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and the community.
• Wants balanced work-life schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary and preventive care to patients of all ages.
• Part-time schedule — typically 2-3 days per week with clinic hours 8am–5pm.
• Maintain a patient panel of 300–400 for continuity of care.
• Collaborate with experienced physicians and clinical staff in a team environment.
• No on-call schedule.
• Participate in community health initiatives.
