Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing recognized by the California Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Three years’ experience in a specialized field of practice (Family/OB).
• Current California Nurse Practitioner license.
• ANCC or AANP certification required for Nurse Practitioner.
• Must have a current DEA certificate.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Maintain continuing medical education requirements for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address disease prevention and health promotion in the clinic.
• Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and long-term health issues.
• Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Educate patients and families about preventive care and treatments.
• Counsel patients/families on medical conditions and plan of care.
• Prescribe drugs or therapies; coordinate with physicians.
• Collaborate with the medical staff to ensure safe patient care.
• Refer patients to physicians or specialists when needed.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and PCMH.
