Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care seeks dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our healthcare team at centers in Muscle Shoals, Florence, Decatur, and Cullman, Alabama. PRN shifts are currently available.

Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care, with nine locations in Alabama, is an affiliate of Urgent Team, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. The Urgent Team Family of Centers provides quality, affordable family healthcare at over 80 locations under eight brands.

Our walk-in centers offer a range of services including treatment for injuries and illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care. They operate seven days a week: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All centers are Accredited Care Centers, a designation from the Urgent Care Association recognizing our commitment to safety, quality, and scope of services.

Job Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care, you will provide exceptional medical care to patients of all ages with various acute and chronic conditions. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, you will diagnose, treat, and educate patients, ensuring high standards of care. Full-time team members work rotating 36-40 hour weeks, including 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. PRN team members work on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Lead and assist during emergencies, maintaining a reassuring presence for patients.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with long and variable hours, changing locations, and frequent contact with others.
• Perform medical assessments, treatment, management, and follow-up for clinic patients, including primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals, and workers' compensation.
• Perform medical procedures such as laceration repairs, nail removal, pap tests, injections, splinting, and abscess drainage.
• Establish and monitor appropriate levels of care for patients.
• Oversee laboratory, x-rays, injections, and collections for direct access services, if applicable.
• Maintain clinical competencies.
• Work with leadership and staff to ensure operations align with policies and standards.
• Participate in policy development, implementation, and revision related to medical practice, quality, and patient satisfaction.
• Assist with continuing education programs for staff.
• Suggest growth opportunities for services within the center.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in staff education and represent the company at meetings or events.
• Guide other medical staff to ensure quality services and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of provider experience.
• State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
• Certification as an APRN through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA.
• DEA license or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• BLS certification.
