Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care’s convenient, walk-in centers provide a range of healthcare services including treatments for injuries and illnesses, occupational health and wellness care. The centers are open seven days a week: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, all Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care centers are Accredited Care Centers – a designation from the Urgent Care Association which recognizes the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and scope of services.

Job Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care, you will provide exceptional medical care to patients of all ages with a variety of acute and chronic conditions. Working collaboratively with a healthcare team, you will diagnose, treat, and educate patients, ensuring high standards of care. Our full-time Providers work rotating 36-40 hour/week schedules, including 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Deliver friendly, convenient patient care for those seeking health services.
• Lead and assist during emergencies, maintaining a reassuring presence for patients.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with variable hours and locations.
• Perform medical assessments, treatments, management, and follow-up for various medical conditions, including primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals, and workers' compensation.
• Perform medical procedures such as laceration repairs, nail removal, pap tests, injections, splinting, and abscess drainage.
• Establish and monitor appropriate levels of care for patients.
• Oversee onsite lab work, x-rays, injections, and collections for direct access services, if applicable.
• Maintain clinical competencies.
• Ensure operations align with medical policies and standards.
• Contribute to policy development, quality improvement, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Participate in education and training programs for staff.
• Identify growth opportunities for services within the center.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accreditation standards.
• Represent the company at meetings and events as needed.
• Provide guidance to medical staff to ensure quality care and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of provider experience.
• State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
• Certification as an APRN through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA.
• DEA license or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• BLS certification.
