Job summary

A primary care organization in Washington, DC is hiring two part-time FNPs for a pure clinical role inside four small clinics built into converted apartments within DC public housing communities. This is not a medical office.

The clinics are renovated apartments in public housing buildings, and candidates must be fully comfortable practicing in that setting before applying. Thirty-minute appointments, onsite labs, cradle-to-grave Medicaid panel, MA support at every visit, and a Lead NP available

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Washington, DC NP license (or ability to obtain before start).
• FNP certification through ANCC or AANP is required (pediatric panel).
• DEA registration active is required.
• MSN, DNP, or equivalent advanced nursing degree.
• 1–3 years NP clinical experience.
• Chronic disease management experience required.
• Experience with Medicaid and underserved populations preferred.
• Comfortable seeing pediatric patients (well child care, vaccines, physicals).
• Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
• Community health or public health experience preferred.
• Fully comfortable practicing in renovated apartment settings inside DC public housing buildings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan at two clinic sites in DC public housing.
• Provide well child care, immunizations, physicals, and preventive screenings.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions with emphasis on chronic disease management.
• Manage patients with multiple chronic conditions alongside significant social needs.
• Prescribe and manage medications including controlled substances.
• Order and interpret onsite labs and point-of-care testing.
• Coordinate referrals with specialists, hospitals, and community organizations.
• Provide health education and counseling with attention to health literacy.
• Document care accurately in the EHR.
• Participate in occasional community outreach at clinic sites.

This is not a medical office. The clinics are renovated apartments in public housing buildings, and candidates must be fully comfortable practicing in that setting before applying. Thirty-minute appointments, onsite labs, cradle-to-grave Medicaid panel, MA support at every visit, and a Lead NP available as a clinical resource. Monday–Friday, no weekends, 2–3 days per week. No administrative duties, no leadership requirement. Just focused, relationship-based primary care for families who have not had dependable access to a provider who knows them.

Schedule & Compensation

• $60–$70/hour
