Job summary

Katmai seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive NP services under granted privileges. You will perform screenings, immunizations, diagnoses, and treatments for acute and chronic conditions, and collaborate with physicians.

The role requires CNS-level accountability with focus on preventive care, patient education, and care coordination in a military medical facility environment.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing with family nurse practitioner specialization.
• Current ANCC or AANP certification.
• Active RN license at the Advanced Practice level for the applicable jurisdiction.
• Minimum 24 months of outpatient family medicine experience in the last 36 months.
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Obtain and maintain site health screening and immunization requirements.
• Obtain and maintain required security access and background checks.
• Complete credentialing documents per Katmai’s checklist.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurse practitioner services within granted privileges, including supervising and performing general screening and medical care.
• Collaborate with physicians in the care of patients with chronic illnesses.
• Order diagnostic tests and interpret results as applicable.
• Prescribe and dispense medications per policy and formulary.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education.
• Coordinate patient care to optimize outcomes while ensuring cost effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with standards of care and clinic policies.
• Participate in committees and quality improvement activities.
