Join our team as a Family Navigator!

The Family Navigator will assess the family in order to connect them with services to help meet their needs and engage them in the TANF 2Generation Program

Hybrid work schedule: varies based on in-home work with families. 1-2 days in office required.

Education and experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Requires Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as Outlook email
  • Experience working with children and families in need

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • All KVC Kansas employees must be at least 21 years of age.

What you will do:

  • Initial Assessment: Establish rapport with families and use standardized tools to document their unique strengths, challenges, and circumstances.
  • Need Prioritization: Analyze assessment data to identify and rank needs based on urgency and their impact on family stability.
  • Service Planning: Collaborate with families to create personalized, strengths-based service plans that utilize both family and community resources.
  • Service Connection: Refer families to KVC or community programs for housing, healthcare, and financial needs while advocating for culturally responsive care.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly review the effectiveness of interventions and adjust service plans to address new challenges.
  • Parenting Education: Facilitate workshops on life skills and child development to enhance parenting capacity and resilience.
  • Protective Factors: Implement strategies to strengthen parental resilience, social connections, and concrete supports while mitigating risk factors.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential records of all assessments, interactions, and referrals in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and communicate with stakeholders to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and quality improvement efforts to maintain family-centered practice standards.
