Job summary

Northbridge Community Church in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a Family Ministry Pastor to lead grades 6-12 and support K-5. This role partners with a elder-led team and a Lead Pastor to cultivate biblical discipleship and family ministry across the church.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of pastoral family ministry experience, a degree in ministry/theology, and strong organizational and communication skills to develop volunteers and programs.

Qualifications

• A mature follower of Jesus Christ with a lifestyle that reflects biblical character and integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in ministry, theology, or leadership; five years minimum pastoral family ministry experience.
• Strong understanding of church systems, structures, and ministry environments.
• Experience with multiple services per weekend is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pioneer a fresh chapter of youth ministry with the current children’s ministry team.
• Lead and develop a biblically grounded ministry for grades 6-12 and support K-5.
• Establish weekly gatherings focusing on teaching, discipleship, worship, outreach, serving, prayer and relationships.
• Build, train and shepherd volunteers and leaders.
• Equip and encourage parents as primary disciplers.
• Communicate consistently to students, volunteers, parents and staff.
• Plan family-focused events, retreats and outreach to connect church with community.
• Collaborate with pastoral team to integrate family ministry into the church vision.
• Ensure safe, welcoming environments aligned with church values and theology.
• Develop and oversee a Singles Ministry.

Position Summary

This role is ideal for a spiritually mature leader who loves God's Word, values theological clarity, and is passionate about helping students stand firm in faith. The candidate needs to be in agreement with Northbridge's theological convictions, have a passion for Youth Ministry, and have organizational strength, communication skill, and leadership development mindset. You will serve alongside a supportive elder-led leadership team, a committed Lead Pastor, and parents eager for intentional spiritual leadership.

Employment Status: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Pioneer a new and fresh chapter of youth ministry at Northbridge Community Church in cooperation with our present children’s minister.
• Lead and develop a biblically grounded ministry for grades 6-12, and support existing ministry in K-5.
• Establish weekly gatherings focused on teaching, discipleship, worship, outreach, serving, prayer, and relationships that foster discipleship.
• Build, recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers and leaders.
• Equip and encourage parents as primary disciplers.
• Communicate consistently to students, volunteers, parents, and staff.
• Plan and lead family-focused events, retreats, and outreach opportunities that connect the church with the community.
• Collaborate with the pastoral team to integrate family ministry into the overall vision and mission of the church.
• Ensure all family ministry environments are safe, welcoming, and aligned with our church’s values and theology.
• Develop and oversee a Singles Ministry for a growing singles population within the church

Team Collaboration & Ministry Development:

• Integrate students into the broader life of the church.
• Steward the youth ministry budget and prepare for growth.

Qualifications

1. Spiritual & Character Requirements

• A mature follower of Jesus Christ with a lifestyle that reflects biblical character and integrity.
• Alignment with the church’s statement of faith, beliefs and mission, vision and values.
• Demonstrated servant leadership with a heart for equipping others.

2. Professional & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred); ministry, theology, or leadership fields preferred.
• 5yrs minimum of experience in church pastoral ministry with family ministry experience.
• Strong understanding of church systems, structures, and ministry environments.
• Experience with multiple services per weekend - preferred

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Salary range: $65K - $75K
