Job summary

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have lived experience with substance abuse, treatment, and recovery with 2–3 years of sustained recovery; active recovery program preferred.
• Knowledge of recovery resources and experience interacting with individuals seeking recovery.
• Personal experience with child welfare is preferred.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurance; reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Provides safety, stability and well-being for children and families during referral period.
• Delivers culturally competent services using a strengths-based approach.
• Meets timelines to connect with family and facilitate initial meetings.
• Engages with the case manager and family to complete assessments.
• Responds promptly to family crisis situations.
• Meets with clients weekly for one-on-one support.
• Develops recovery plans and coping methods with the client.
• Facilitates treatment assessments and referrals and arranges appointments.
• Monitors behavior, schedule, medications and reports concerns.
• Provides transportation and coordinates community resources.
• May drive to multiple DCCCA locations as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
