Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have lived experience with substance abuse, treatment, and recovery with a minimum of two to three years of sustained recovery; active recovery preferred.
• Requires knowledge of recovery resources and experience interacting with individuals seeking recovery.
• Personal experience with child welfare preferred.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain automobile liability insurance; reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide for the safety, stability and well-being of children and families during the referral period.
• Deliver culturally competent services using a strengths-based approach to children and families consistent with the evidence-based practice models.
• Meet DCF timelines to connect with the family and facilitate the initial family meeting.
• Engage and work in partnership with the case manager and family to complete assessments.
• Respond promptly to family crisis situations.
• Meet with clients at least once a week to offer one-on-one support.
• Develop recovery plans, coping methods and rehabilitation services with the client.
• Facilitate treatment assessments and referrals and provide client support in arranging for medical appointments, counseling, support groups, and other resources as needed.
• Monitor the client’s behavior, schedule, medication, and activities and reports any unusual behavior, conflicts, or recovery deviations to the relevant professionals.
• Provide transportation and resources and coordinates community support services as needed.
• Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day or night as required.

Education, Experience, And Licensure

• Must have lived experience with substance abuse, treatment, and recovery with a minimum of two to three years of sustained recovery; Working with an active recovery program (12-step, church/spiritual, other recovery support group) preferred
• Requires knowledge of recovery resources and has experience interacting with individuals seeking recovery
• Personal experience with child welfare preferred
• Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position.
