Job summary

MAHEC in Asheville, NC is seeking a scheduling coordinator for faculty clinics, med/peds/OB call and inpatient coverage. You will place students on faculty schedules and open clinic schedules in the practice management system while supporting the Administrative Director and residency staff.

You will collaborate across departments to maintain balanced schedules, ensure learner supervision, and provide timely coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or three (3) years of relevant experience, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience, which includes administrative and scheduling experience within a large medical or other health-related field.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain daily, weekly and yearly basic pattern schedules for each faculty member for all Internal Medicine, including call schedules, attending, inpatient coverage and other department responsibilities.
• Approve and make appropriate changes to schedule in coordination with residency program and department needs; manage last minute changes and complex scheduling issues to meet resident and faculty needs.
• Coordinate faculty schedules with residency program to produce timely and accurate patient care schedules.
• Manage weekly schedule to ensure appropriate number of providers each half day for access to patient care.
• Manage resident/preceptor ratio to ensure proper supervision of residents.
• Manage all specialty clinic schedules with provider coverage to supervise Internal Medicine residents.
• Produce monthly call schedule and arrange coverage when call patterns break down.
• Coordinate placement of learners with multiple MAHEC departments.
