Job summary

Orion Placement in Tyler, Texas is seeking an attorney to join our client-focused family law team. You will manage a full caseload of divorce, child custody, adoption, CPS matters, and child support from initial meetings through resolution.

The ideal candidate holds a JD, is licensed or awaiting Texas Bar results, and brings strong research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills. This on-site role offers meaningful responsibility and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar license or currently awaiting Texas Bar exam results.
• Family law experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong legal research, writing, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of family law matters from initial client meetings through resolution.
• Represent clients in divorce, child custody, adoption, CPS investigations, child support, and related disputes.
• Meet with clients to assess legal issues, provide practical guidance, and develop effective case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and other authorities.
• Prepare for and appear at hearings, mediations, conferences, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable resolutions when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure deadlines and court requirements are met.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver excellent client service and improve legal processes.
