Job summary

Epworth Children’s Home seeks a dedicated professional to serve as the primary facilitator for mutual self-help groups and to lead parenting classes. The role includes marketing, recruitment, site management, and guiding peer leaders as they emerge.

You will build the Circle of Parents into a statewide program, teach families, and assist in intake and kinship assessments while providing wraparound support within the Institute of Child and Family Wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Master's preferred in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in human services required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills including public speaking.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional materials.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions.
• Must pass standard background checks (drug screen, FBI, SLED, DSS, Sex Offenders Registry).
• Faith practices compatible with United Methodist Church.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary facilitator for mutual self-help groups; run and facilitate parenting classes; provide wraparound services for the Institute of Child and Family Wellbeing.
• Facilitate a nationally recognized self-help group; market the group and recruit parents; manage sites until a peer leader emerges.
• Build the Circle of Parents into a statewide program and collect/analyze data from groups.
• Teach, lead and facilitate parenting classes for families of origin, kinship families and foster parents.
• Develop organized children’s program for Circle of Parents children during groups.
• Assist in intake and assessment of kinship families; may carry a small caseload.
• Provide wraparound support services for the Institute of Child and Family Wellbeing.
