Job summary

Center for Human Services (CHS) is seeking a Head Start/Early Head Start Family Engagement Specialist in Clinton, MO. You will support family engagement activities, assist families with basic needs and goal setting, and maintain professional relationships with staff and families.

Responsibilities include planning activities, coordinating home visits as needed, and promoting parent participation in committees and events while collaborating with education staff to strengthen the program.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Family Child Development or related field and two years’ experience with families of young children.
• Valid Driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance required.
• TB assessment and background screenings prior to start.
• Knowledgeable about Paycom, Childplus, Head Start Performance Standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, respectful relationships with families and staff to support family engagement plans.
• Plan and implement family engagement activities and assist families in meeting basic needs and goals.
• Coordinate home visits and parent education, promoting participation in Parent Committee meetings and related events.
• Assist in health outcomes, attendance plans, crisis interventions, and family outcomes through motivational interviewing with parents.
• Support community partnerships and staff collaboration to strengthen program services.
