Job summary

Philip's Academy Charter School of Paterson in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Family Liaison to strengthen learning by coordinating Title I family and community programs and serving as the first point of contact for family needs. You will work under the Managing Director of Curriculum and Instruction to connect families with school resources and supports.

The position requires bilingual Spanish/English communication, strong organizational and customer service skills, and experience in a school

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, focus in human services.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provides sound management of day-to-day operations of Title I family and community programs.
• Collaborates with school parent liaisons to develop family activities to increase student achievement.
• Serves as a communication bridge between the School and Parent-led activities.
• Facilitates the implementation of best practices for family engagement.
• Responds to and resolves family-related questions, challenges, and disputes.
• Provides feedback to school leaders regarding program effectiveness.
• Supports strategies for engaging families and meeting federal requirements.
• Provides training to parents ambassadors on building parent capacity.
• Develops community relationships to build family capacity.
• Develops and distributes instructional materials for schools, students, and parents.
• Coordinates after-school family activities (Family Night, Field Days, etc.).
• Uses family data to drive decision making and inform school practice.
