Job summary

Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) seeks a Home Visitor to provide home-based child and family development support to enrolled families in Kodiak. Working within the Parents as Teachers model, you will partner with parents and child care providers to strengthen early learning, promote positive parenting, and connect families with resources.

This role supports school readiness and healthy family outcomes in the community, conducts home visits, leads parent education, and helps with screenings,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of supervised work with young children and/or parents.
  • Knowledge of child development and early childhood education preferred.
  • Ability to connect families with community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts home-based visits with assigned families and engages parents in educational activities.
  • Encourages strong family relationships and supports parents' ability to assist child development at home.
  • Delivers instruction to parents on behavior management, development, and early learning activities.
  • Provides trainings to State of Alaska licensed Child Care Providers and KANA-approved providers.
  • Completes program intake forms, assessments, and required documentation.
  • Plans and facilitates group connections for families and gathers feedback.
