Job summary

Living Redemption Community Development Corporation is hiring a Family Development Coach to work in the Fatherhood Program, delivering case management, coaching, and ISP development to fathers as they strengthen relationships with their children and communities.

The role includes home visits, connecting participants to resources, and collaborating with program staff to ensure high-quality services. Base location is New York, NY, with full-time hours and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years experience facilitating training/workshops.
  • Intermediate computer skills across Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal and partnership-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Develop and implement ISPs tailored to each participant’s situation.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching for parenting skills, employment, and personal development.
  • Connect participants to community resources such as job training, legal services, and housing support.
  • Maintain regular contact to monitor progress and provide ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with Training Specialists and Peer Mentors to align services.
  • Document interactions and progress in compliance with DYCD requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community events.

Living Redemption Community Development Corporation (LRCDC) is an independent Harlem-based nonprofit, dba Living Redemption Youth Opportunity Hub (LRYOH). Founded in 2019, LRCDC exists to catalyze Central, West, and East Harlem's homegrown "Credible Messengers," who are part of the broader Credible Messenger and Transformative Mentoring Movement. With a mission to Save Lives and Heal Communities One Relationship at a Time, LRCDC provides Credible Messenger-led mentoring, community outreach, and a holistic continuum of programs and wraparound supports for Harlem's most vulnerable youth and families and select communities across New York City.

POSITION

Living Redemption Community Development Corporation is hiring a Family Development Coach to play a critical role in LRCDC's Fatherhood Program by providing case management, coaching, and support to fathers as they work to strengthen their relationships with their children and communities. This position involves working directly with participants to develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs), connect them to resources, and support their personal and professional growth. The Family Development Coach will also collaborate with program staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify participants’ strengths, needs, and goals.

  • Provide one-on-one coaching to support participants in achieving their goals, including parenting skills, employment, and personal development.
  • Connect participants to community resources, such as job training programs, legal services, and housing assistance.
  • Maintain regular contact with participants to monitor progress and provide ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with program staff, including Training Specialists and Peer Mentors, to align services with program objectives.
  • Document participant interactions and progress in compliance with program and DYCD requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and community events to support program goals.

EDUCATION PREFERENCE / TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience facilitating training or workshops, preferably in family development or community engagement.
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency (ability to multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships.

COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ability to learn other software as required.
