Job summary

Ekspert Counsel is seeking a Litigation Supervisor for the Family Defense Practice. This remote role, based from Bronx, NY, leads a team of attorneys serving indigent clients in family defense matters.

The position requires a NY J.D. and bar admission (or eligibility), plus 4–6 years of Family Defense experience or 7+ years in related public interest litigation. Supervisory experience is preferred, with a focus on strategic program development and high-quality advocacy.

Qualifications

• J.D. and admission to practice law in New York (or eligibility for admission).
• 4-6 years of Family Defense experience (Article 10/TPR matters) or 7+ years of Criminal Defense, Immigration Defense, Housing, Benefits, Mental Health, or similar public interest litigation experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong litigation, leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and advancing equitable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of attorneys.
• Provide guidance on litigation strategy, case management, and trial advocacy.
