Job summary
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is seeking a Family Findings Specialist to support foster youth and families through proactive outreach, research, and kinship networking. This full-time role involves coordinating with the Child and Family Team, locating relatives and fictive kin, and helping expand resources to improve permanency outcomes for children in care.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
- Strong communication and research skills.
- Experience working with children with special needs is a plus.
- Pass background check and have valid IL driver's license.
- Proficiency with SACWIS and MS Office suite.
Responsibilities
- Understand bias and work within child welfare systems to locate placement options.
- Provide professional assistance and resource development to casework staff.
- Travel to multiple locations for meetings and home assessments.
- Engage families, birth parents, and kin to support permanency.
- Utilize data tools to document searches and outcomes.
