Job summary

LSSI in Illinois seeks a dedicated social services professional to support foster care and permanency efforts. You will link families to community resources and assist with adoption, reunification, and guardianship steps.

You will handle documentation, home studies, subsidy paperwork, and coordination with DCFS, ensuring compliance while maintaining strong family communication. A bachelor’s in social work is required; CWEL preferred; driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
• CWEL preferred but not required.
• Ability to engage with families.
• Proficient in documentation using computer software.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist families by linking to community resources to prepare the home.
• Support adoption and guardianship processes and required documentation.
• Help secure services to expedite permanency.
• Assist with listing children for adoption when reunification is not possible.
• Complete and submit required home study and subsidy paperwork.
• Monitor and follow up on subsidy packets with DCFS.
